Avalanche Courses

Learn to make safe choices in avalanche terrain
Our avalanche courses range from introductions for novice skiers to advanced courses tailored to experienced skiers. Every course covers the essentials of forecasting, terrain and route-finding. The advanced courses go deeper into the snowpack, analysing its layers and turning that into decisions about what’s skiable.
With one of our IFMGA mountain guides, the course is engaging and hands-on: you’ll take part in discussions and get plenty of first-hand practice with rescue scenarios, digging snow pits and approaching different ski terrain.

All our guides have many years of experience making decisions in avalanche terrain. We’ll tailor the course to your group’s skill level and experience, covering the most important skills for travelling in avalanche terrain. Courses run for a minimum of two days, but we recommend more if possible.
